I own a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. The engine will not turn over on the first 2 or 3 tries. When it finally does catch it will run for a few seconds then die. After I do this 2 or 3 times it will finally stay running, roughly at first but then it warms up and all is good. What should I check?

Sounds like a failing Idle Air Control valve. If you hold the gas down just a little, will it start? If it does, more than likelu=y it is the IAC.

It is located behind the throttle body down behind the intake on just to the drivers side of center. It is tight to replace. Go slow and you can replace it.
