are you sure that the shaft that drives the pump is correctly installed? did you prime it first with a drill before starting or cranking it?

Yes I primed it and it's on the shaft correctly it's pumping oil to the filter I took the filter off and turned it over the pump is doing its job so I changed the filter think it was clogged but that wasn't the case

do you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge hooked up? or are you going by the gauge in the cluster? or a dummy light?what was the original reason for replacing these parts?

No I don't have a mechanical pump I was on my way to work and I lost pressure and the dummy light came on and I had about 2 miles left till igot there by the time i got there it was tapping not bad but it was tapping now that I've done what I've done to it the bottom end has no noise but u can here the rocker arms tapping I'm worried that I've spun a bearing and that's the reason that the oil isn't pumping all the way through it starts it runs it doesn't sound like it has lost any power it just has the tapping and I'm afraid to drive it home cause I don't want to be stranded on the side of the road and I'm trying to avoid locking it up

you are welcome. my only suggestion would be to buy a oil pressure gauge that you can screw into the spot where the oil pressure switch is and verify exactly what the oil pressure is.
