The engine starts when it is cold and runs fine until it is turned off. It wont engage the starter and low battery power when hot. After about an hour it will start and run fine again.

Sounds like dirty / corroded battery cable connections. Do you have a digital voltmeter?

The battery is brand new and cable connections are clean.

What do you mean by "low battery power when hot"? Do you have a digital voltmeter?
