Which transmission do you have, the 3-speed or the 4-speed? If you have the 4-speed, it's stuck in second gear. That's "limp mode" to allow you to drive slowly to the repair shop without needing a tow truck. You can get an idea of the type of problem by observing when it goes to second gear. If it does it as soon as you shift to "drive", it's usually a sensor or some other electrical problem. If it starts out in first gear and up-shifts normally, then suddenly bangs back to second gear, it's more likely to be due to slippage in one of the clutch packs.
