We just recently changed the water pump and hose. Before we did that we had no issues besides the high idle and brake booster prob. After the water pump change we drove the truck and it sounds like it is misfiring and sounds rough. It makes the truck shake when in drive and press on the gas. What can cause this?

Has the check engine light come on? Also, is there a vacuum leak at the brake booster? That can cause a misfire and rough idle as well as a high idle.

Yes the check engine comes on and sometimes it stays on. Lastnight we drove it to the store and its ok as long as it stays around 40mph but try pushing it past 45 and it acts like its being forced to go higher. Once it reaches 50 it will ride ok as long as im not pressing on the gas and just letting it coast on its own it does the same in cruise control. The bottom part of the windshield fogged up and had to roll the windows down to defog it. I live in the country and the closest town is like 10 to 15 miles away from where I am the speed limit is 50mph on these country roads so I am able to test the speed I am able to reach and It seems that is as far as I can push it.

Since the check engine light has come on, you need to have the computer scanned to determine what is causing the issue. Most parts stores will do it for free. Have that done and let me know what code you find.

Okay, the EGR can be a problem. I need to know if you can get the code that was found. Also, are you referring to the idle air control valve (IAC)? That would cause an idle issue.
