The only major pieces of equipment in this truck that I have not replaced in the past year are the engine, the alternator, the water pump and the timing.

Today I was leaving the store, idling up to a stop sign when suddenly it felt like I didn't get any fuel pressure at all and the truck stalled. I went to restart it and it turned over fine several times but did not fire. Several times went by and gradually there was a catch and it "tried to fire" but still nothing. Moving it to a safe area and letting it sit for a few moments I gave one last try before calling for a pick-up/jump/tow and the engine turned over and was sputtering for several moments before revving up and back to "normal". The drive home saw a small feeling of hesitation in the accelerator but by the time I reached the house (about a mile away) it was gone completely.

I'm not sure of engine litre size? With intermittent issues, you need to test when problem is ongoing, I know it's a pain, if your by yourself, but, if it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure.

How long since a tune-up? If you think it is a fuel issue, that spider fuel system is noted for problems.

Sorry about the lack of details, it is a 1995 Chevy S10 4 cylinder(4.3 I believe?). I went to start it about an hour ago and it started right up, but died less than 5 seconds later and several attempts to restart it have left me with nothing.

Hi, the 2.2L engine is a 4 cylinder. The 4.3L is a six. When the problem is ongoing, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs, also, check for fuel injector pulse.

Use a gage and check fuel pressure. I can't tell at the moment, if it is a fuel issue or intermittent rpm signal?
