How long since over-all tune-up? Use a gage and check correct fuel pressure. Also, check that the fuel pressure will hold for a bit, with everything off. If pressure drops like a rock, you have a pressure leak, check the pressure regulator vacuum line for gas, if any gas in it, the pressure regulator is faulty. It sounds like the system is running lean for some reason.
