1995 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112K miles
I have a car manual and it looks simple enough but the manual is telling me to get a fuel system gage with a bleeder valve and hook it into a fuel system port to bleed off the pressure from the system.
?. That sounds awfully complicated and pointless just to replace a gas filter, but this is the first time I'm working ont this Chevy V6 3.1L.
I want to open the gas cap to take out the pressure in the tank and then change the filter and let it blow out what little pressure there is. I can catch the gas in a rag or small container if there is going to be that much and replace the filter. I've done that on other cars and it worked no-sweat.
But that car was a 4 cylinder dodge shadow and I checked with a mechanic I knew then and he told me yeah do it no problem.
My question is will that work on this Chevy? Will the car start once I'm done or not? Will I blow myself up (LOL)?
Thanks much
Tom
