My oil light switch says to change oil and the next day, I did, but the light stayed on.

Was driving home, and the oil light switch came on and says change oil
so the next day I did a oil change and the light is still on.

Are you sure its not a 2005 chevy impala not a 1995 impala?

It is a 1995 Chevy Impalla SS with a 5.7 engine

For some reason I dont have a listing for that year impala in my online info. Try turning the key to the on position dont start it then press the gas pedal all the way to the floor 5 time as fast as you can see if the change oil light flashes and goes out.

As per the owner's manual: turn the ignition to "on" but do not start the car. Depress the accelerator all the way to the floor then let it return all the way to the up position. Do this 3 consecutive times. The light should go out. You must not have the vehicle too long. This is based on the odometer reading and the change oil light comes on after 3000 miles, not based on any oil life measurement.
