timing

1995 CHEVROLET CORSICA

there are no marks on the cam gear to go by.how do you time a 95 chevy corsica??

If the number one pistion is on top dead center of compression stroke, before you worked on it and you didn't move the gears, they should be lined up.

Sometimes those timing marks are hard to see. Once, I used a dirty spot accidently as a timing mark. When I tore back into it, I used a wet rag, what I thought was the timing mark, wiped right off. lol
