I understand the fuel pump in my 1995 Cheverlot Caprice Clasic is in the fuel tank. Most of the time when I start it I hear what I think is the fuel pump run for a few seconds. Is there an opening in the trunk to remove the pump? Which pump do I need, it's a 5.7 liter engine. Guy Paris....

when the key is first turned the fuel pump will kick on (buzz) for a few seconds then kick off unless engine is started up. There is no access panel, the fuel tank must be lowered to access/replace the fuel pump on this vehicle. autozone has the pump for $80 plus tax, their item number for it is E3270
