I bought the car 10 years ago and it already had the K&N air filter. For ten years that I've had car, the MAF sensor has never given me any problems until recently.I have cleaned and re-oiled the filter many times and never had a problem.

I was asking because when people over oil the air filters it damages the mass airflow sensors. So if the mass airflow sensors arent getting damaged by some sort of contamintants then there just faulty cheap mass air flow sensors. Thats the only two things I can think of.
