I just bought the Camaro so not sure how it was driven, although it appears to have been very well maintained. Regarding the overheating, I can drive the car for a while with the temp gauge reading normal, after approximately 8 miles the temp gauge will start climbing. Although the fluid in the radiator looks clear I noticed what appears to be a light brown colored "goo" on the plastic measuring stick in the overflow bottle. My worry is that a head gasket may be bad although so far I haven't noticed any loss of coolant, also not sure about the thermostat.
regarding the oil pressure, oil pressure appears fine for a while but appears to decrease slowly after 6-8 miles, especially when stopping. After moving again it appears to go back close to normal pressure until I have to stop again. The oil appears to be clean and I haven't noticed any oil consumption but as I said earlier I just bought the car.

First, oil pressure will drop as the engine heats up and when the RPM's drop when stopping. That is normal. However, it really shouldn't go much below 20 PSI.

As far as the coolant, flush the system and replace the thermostat. That should take care of it. Make sure you flush both the engine block and radiator.

If that doesn't take care of things, then we need to consider a head gasket. Keep in mind, oil can leak into the cooling system with a bad gasket too.

Let me know what you find.

Sorry gave you wrong engine size, it's a 3.8 liter engine code "K". I cleaned out the coolant overflow bottle, installed a flush kit and flushed radiator and engine, added new 50/50 coolant, changed oil and filter. Will run it a while and see what happens.
