I own a "1995" Chevrolet S-10 Blazer base model 4x4 4 door, with the 4.3 liter engine. It has the Central MFI for the fuel injection system. I am to understand that GM had a lot of issues with this system. I am having problems with it (miss fires, fuel mileage is low, etc.). I have done diagnostics on this system to know that it is the fuel injector itself that is causing the issue. I am a technician who works on big trucks but works on cars on the side. I have no access to any inter-personnel information what-so-ever for car/truck personal vehicles. I would like to know if there is an OEM/Aftermarket upgrade for this system? The type of upgrade I'm referring too would be to do away with the poppets and put some kind of actual injectors or solenoids at the poppets so it doesn't fire the poppets all the time wasting fuel - sort of like what GM did with the 1996 CSFI (central port sequential fuel injection). If there is no upgrades, then I will have to install an OEM/OEM style aftermarket injector. I am looking to get better fuel mileage and stop the miss fires. Thank you very much.
