Can the upper rear main bearing seal be replaced w/o removing trans.?

I've read online that this is possible on some vehicles.

If it is the rear main seal that you ar refering to, all vehicles have to have the transmission removed, except for a few sportscars that have engine in front and transmission are rear and both are connected by a shaft in between.
