What would cause gas in the oil? 95 buick regal 3.1 and it quit running and won't start. When I checked the oil for water I discovered gasoline instead.

Fuel pressure regulator is one possibility. Another is faulty injector. Any applicable trouble codes? I wouldn't drive it till you find the problem, then change the oil and filter, you may to change more than once.
