I TRY TO PROMOTE DIY

OTHERS ON HERE SUGGEST TAKING IT TO A SHOP

THIS LINK I'M ABOUT TO GIVE YOU IS A DECENT PRODUCT

THE "TOP" OR "GAUGE PART" OF THE SYSTEM IS REUSABLE WITH SMALLER FREON CANS OF DIFFERENT BRAND NAMES (LIKE THE CHEAPER "AUTO STORE BRAND" OR "TARGET", "OLLIES, AND OTHER PLACES WITH $3-$15 CANS (SO DON'T THROW THE TOP AWAY!)

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/ac-pro-professional-formula-refrigerant-with-gauge-and-hose-20-oz.-acp-100n-acp-10/10034602-P?searchTerm=ac+pro

ALONG WITH THIS LINK, JUST BELOW THE PIC OF THE PRODUCT IS A VIDEO (ON YOU TUBE TOO, SORTA A FACTORY KINDA VIDEO)

DO "EXACTLY" WHAT IT SAYS!

PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE "SETTING OF THE GAUGE" FOR OUTSIDE (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE) AND WHEN TO STOP PUTTING IT IN! (IT MAY NOT HOLD THIS FULL BOTTLE) I RECOMMEND WATCHING IT WITH ANOTHER MECHANICAL PERSON AS NOT TO MESS THIS UP!

THIS WILL MOST LIKELY WORK FOR YOUR SITUATION (RIGHT NOW)

THIS IS ONLY GONNA REPLENISH LOST FREON

YEP, YOU MAY HAVE A LEAK, WHERE'D THE ORIGINAL FREON GO TO?

A SHOP MAY BE THE "REAL FIX" ESPECIALLY IF IT GETS WORSE, OR THIS DOES NOT HELP. THIS MAY REQUIRE A "FULL SET OF A/C GAUGES" TO DIAGNOSE IT AT A SHOP

JUST MORE INFO - ANY "HEAT SETTING" THAT USES "DEFROST" WILL MAKE THE COMPRESSOR COME ON, THIS TAKES THE MOISTURE OUT OF THAT AIR, PRIOR TO IT BEING BLOWN ONTO YOUR WINDSHIELD

I CURRENTLY HAVE HAD A VERY SLOW LEAK IN OUR '95 NEON FOR A FEW YEARS NOW, IT TAKES

ONE SMALL 12 OZ CAN AT THE BEGINNING OF SPRING, AND ONE MORE ABOUT MID-SUMMER. DUE TO MY THRIFT FULLNESS, I SPEND LESS THAN $10 FOR BOTH CANS. I WILL KEEP THIS UP, UNTIL IT ONLY LASTS FOR A MONTH OR SO. I SELDOM DRIVE IT ANYWAY (IT'S OUR SPARE CAR), I'LL STICK WITH MY TWO JEEPS!

RETURN WITH GOOD NEWS!

Just to add to this you could have excessive pressure on the high side causing the compressor to cycle. Which could be caused by a bad cooling fan or the radiator or condensor fins being blocked by sand or debris not allowing enough air flow thru the condensor. Also possibly a bad high low switch on the ac line being bad. Before adding any charge I always check that and the high and low side pressures. Just trying to add charge could just add to the problem. Also the pressures cant tell you if the system is properly charged only way to know for sure is if the system is empty and you know how much was put in.
