What does the QDM 1 code mean and what sensors/ solenoids does this affect?

My car is running very ruff and cuts completely off when it is put into reverse. It has also cut off when i was turning, my boyfriends cousin put it on his diagnostics machine and the code that came up was QDM 1. I need to know what this and what it controls so that i can get it fixed because i can no longer put my car into reverse at all. Please help me.
