More specifically, the odometer works and not the speedometer or MPG gauge.

That may be a BUS communication issue or it may have an internal fault in the instrument cluster, the proprietary scan tool (GT-1) will be able to display the fault, I recommend seeking out a local repair facility that has the scanning equipment to do the job.
