My Ac just shut off out of without warning and never came back on. What are a few things I can start with checking to see if its a major problem or not. I replaced the heater control valve 4 months prior and the heater never really heated. any suggestions for that once I get power back 2 ac/heater?

The A/C wont work if the system has no refrigerant.
The heater never really heated, what does that mean?
