could this be the computer chip?

my automatic 95 a6 quattro will work in reverse 1 and 2 but it will not work in drive weve tried changing the tranny fluid but it didnt work what could be the problem?

Without any diagnosis it is impossible to say what is wrong andand to list the possibilities might take forever and we would be wasting each others time. Get a san done to check for trouble codes first.

Btw note if the indicator light for each gear shift shows up correctly on dash.
