I just rebuilt the engine in a 1994 toyota pick up. Had the head reworked and a valve job done. Now that everything is back together, I am having a very hard time getting the truck dialed in. It was running rich on fuel, (black suet coming out of exhaust.) And idel was low. I increased air flow by opening the air duct, after the air breather and it started running much better with a small increase on air intake. My question is, what would be the most common causes of this? I am pretty sure I have all the vacuum hoses on correct and I can find any vac leaks. As a matter of fact, I had a massive vac leak on the intake manifold. Once I repaired that, is when I had the problem with it running like this.
