1994 Toyota Pickup Possible Truck Power Steering Bought Cheap Friend Been Hard

Is it possible my truck has no power steering?
Bought it cheap from a friend. Has been Hard to turn Got enough $$ to have it fixed now the Repair shop says no powersteering pump to"fix." Any cables to grease or some way make easier. Anything in steering column? This is the pits!

If you have manual steering and it is not as easy as it was then it could be a bad steering gear box. I would look into find out what it cost to put power steering on it if it were mine. Call wrecking yards and see what a pump and bracket with hoses and a power gear box would cost and go from there.
