this am when i started my engine i noticed a funny sound when i popped the hood it was coming from the belt area, on further inspection i noticed my crankshaft pulley moving back and forth from the engine body at perhaps a 5 second interval, could you tell me what might be the problem here? p.s only in idle it acts that way..

the pulley has rubber inside it and it wears out over time. i would not wait too long becasue if it comes apart completely, it will leave you stranded.
