1994 Subaru Legacy Recently Had Auto Transmission Replaced Put Foot Down On

I recently had my auto transmission replaced. When I put my foot down on the accelerator the car seems to splutter and choke a lot. There is also a very strong burning smell coming from below the engine.

i would look at basics like plugs/wires/coils.
