So you already replaced the pcm to try to solve this issue?Or you were thinking about replacing the pcm to try to solve this issue?Do you have any codes in the computer?Have you checked for codes yet? Also how are the spark plugs and wires?Have you checked the coil towers where the spark wires go on for corrossion?

A mechanic shop gave me a trouble code 51 and recommended updating pcm or replacing it as the first and possibly only step to solving my stalling problem. I have not replaced the pcm, I want to know how to test and repair it. Wires and spark plugs are new and have no corrosion.

For the code 51 it says check to make sure the terminals and wires are tight to the pcm if they are replace pcm. Thats all the trouble shooting there is for that code. Its detected a internal fault inside the pcm they just want you to rule out a bad connection issue.I dont think that is causing the stalling though it could be causing it. Most of the internal memory faults in pcms I have seen dont cause drive abilty issues in those cars but anything is possible.I would start by checking the connectors to the pcm if there good I would get a used pcm to replace the one in your car. Then go from there its easy to change in that car the pcm is on the drivers side right under the dash. Let me know what you find and if you want I will help you find a used pcm.
