DISCHARGING

AS YOU DRIVE? OVERNIGHT?

DO YOU KNOW IF THE ALTERNATOR IS CHARGING THE BATTERY?

HOME TEST

OBTAIN A VOLTMETER (A CHEAP ONE IS FINE) (HARBOR FREIGHT HAS A DIGITAL ONE FOR ABOUT $5)

SET THE VOLTMETER TO "20 VOLTS DC" (IF 20 AIN'T A CHOICE, ANYTHING JUST ABOVE 12 VOLTS DC WILL WORK JUST FINE)

THIS ENTIRE TEST IS AT THE BATTERY TERMINALS

1) TEST BATTERY W/ THE ENGINE OFF- RESULTS SHOULD BE ABOUT 12.5 VOLTS OR SO

2) FIRE IT UP- DO THE SAME TEST- RESULTS SHOULD BE AT LEAST 13.8 VOLTS IF THE BATTERY IS BEING CHARGED

WHAT ARE YOUR RESULTS?
