does the transmission send diognostic data to the engine so that we can figure out why the trany locked up. When we put it in reverse it lurches forward then stops, doesn't go into other gears.

data does not cover basic hydraulics in the trans. it only controls electrical data and yes, it is sent to the engine pcm.
