car has no power going uphill

my car is an opel kadett 140, 1994 model, engine compression is low and have been advised to install oversize pistons. Current piston size is standard. Will the oversize pistons improve engine power and what size is advisable

You sure the exhaust system is not clogged-up? Could also be a transmission problem.
