1994 Oldsmobile Ciera Put Car Gear Won T Kick Right Away Rev Engine Finally

Ok when I put the car in gear in won't kick in right away I have to rev the engine and it finally kicks into gear. Transmisiion fluid is fine have put lucas in it and still the same thing. It drive great other than that. And its always like that when I come to a compleat stop I have to rev it up again to kick it in gear. Any advice or help would be greatlly appriciated. Thanks

That sounds like you either have a bad torque converter or front pump.

Right on thanks I know where to start. Are thos major or minor problems? And expensive? not sure if I wanna put a lot of money into it yet

The trans needs removed so labor gets expensive.

Would it be cheaper just to get a used transmisiion for it?

The converter is seperate from the trans so no. If the pump is bad, then a used trans may be your best bet.
