1994 mercury traser i have spark and fuel even sprayed starting fluid in it will not star what could be wrong

i was exiting the freeway when car just died towed it home replaced ignition module and crank sensor has spark and fuel to the fuel rail didnt start sprayed starting fluid into intake still did not start

do a compression test first as it may be a timing issue.
