For over 150000 miles, the "check engine" or Check oil" light occasionally comes on and goes off after a restart..its been repeatedly checked by a dealer who can find no problem to repair. Recently the oil pressure gauge has begun occasionally dropping a bit then rising, then stabilizing, and a bit later again "bouncing" a bit. Suggestions?

You first need to check the oil pressure with a known good mechanical gauge, you need to know what the engine oil pressure is first. start here

Mechanical oil pressure check yielded high normal pressure. Replaced oil sensor unit and no more erratic pressure readings. Cost $50.
