These newer rigs are complicated and looks like they have had many problems with them (all models) judging by the number that I see come thru the forums

Imma CJ Kinda Guy, I answer in the CJ5 and CJ7 Forums with "Bubbling Confidence"

Back in 1981, I got my 1st Jeep (when I got my drivers License)---I was "Bubbling Ignorant" about repairing any of it

Since then I have had 6 CJ5s and 1 Willys (presently have '77 CJ5 and '46 Willys........I feel uncomfortable behind the wheel of anything else

Over the years, I sorta "self taught" myself using every available means and pretty much now, after helping others, and fixin' my own.......The 2 I have now, have been completely rebuilt "All By Myself"

What I am steering you to---(I am not signed up for pay here, I sorta picked up this computer "HOBBY" while laid up 8 months with a broken foot w/complications)After answering over 700 posts, I have obtained "Helper Status", and being that I am sorta a "McGyver", I'm really efficient at FINDING RESOURCES.

I kinda made it my Crusade to give the CJ Guys---Personal, Informative, "Hang Around and Help Answers"----Not Quick--Pasted in--run of the mill, "I'm out of here" answers........I had that sorta treatment, as I was working on mine over the years!

So, If you investigate The CJ forums, you will see the extent I will go!.....Lately, the last 3 or 4 CJ7s (top of the CJ7 forum)

CJ Repairs Questions here, Are not constant!----They were so good, few break!

Example: CJ5 Produced 1955-1983....92 QuestionsCJ7 1976-1986.....385 QuestionsWrangler 1987-.......2159 Questions

Hang with me, I was bored....No CJs to fix at present, You really need to get you a "Paper Repair Manual"---I have many, and you just cannot beat a step X step fix--Maintenance Schedules---pics and diagrams.......and a paper manual can be stored in you Jeep, for when its needed...........I have learned more from them, than any other resource (I am also 'Responsible' for fixin' my family and friends rigs.....I am the "Golden Mechanical One" in their eyes) So I have some of their manuals too...............I still seek out CJ manuals I do not own!

Was that not a boring answer or what?....Rather have a Quick one?

Let me know if this gets you anywhere.
