Fuel Regulator

Hey i was wondering how to change a fuel regulator for my prelude and can this be the cause for why when i squeeze on the fuel line it starts up but when i try starting it sometimes it just cranks and turns over but doesnt go on until i squeeze the line? thank you.

What line are you squeezing feed or return line? Check the fuel pressure this will tell you something about the regulator with and without vacuum to it- could also be the fuel pump check valve-

I am squeezing the fuel line right after the fuel filter and the filter is new. but if it was the fuel pump wouldnt it just give out and not go on at all? I dont know thank you and after its on it runs like normal. thank you again
