I CANNOT ACCESS ANY INFO ON YOUR CAR'S ENGINE, ON MANY/ MOST VEHICLES THE TAPPETS ARE NON-ADJUSTABLE, INITIAL SELECTION OF THE PUSH-ROD LENGTH IS ABOUT ALL THAT IS DONE WHEN THE ENGINE IS BUILT.........THE TAPPETS ADJUST THEMSELVES, AS THE ENGINE RUNS (IN SIMPLE TERMS)
NORMALLY WHAT HAPPENS OVER TIME IS THE TAPPETS GET DIRTY AND WILL NOT SEAL AFTER THEY SELF-ADJUST, SO......WHEN IT IS PUSHED UPWARD BY THE CAM, THERE IS "SLOP" OR "GIVE" OR "SLACK" IN THE INNARDS OF THE TAPPET..........THIS IS THE TICKING/ TAPPING/ TAKATAKATAKATAKA YOU ARE HEARING
SOMETIMES THE TAPPETS ARE JUST PLAIN OLE BAD
GOOD NEWS !
YOU MAY BE ABLE TO CLEAN 'EM WITH AN ADDITIVE
