1994 Gmc C1500 Having Suburban Running Good Now Seem Getting Gas Starts

The problem I am having is my suburban was running good but now it seem like its not getting gas. It starts to spudder then it gets power. When I mash down on the gas pedal, it spudders again and then when I come to a traffic light, it dies. What could this problem be? Fuel filter gone bad?
