i have a 1994 geo metro 3 cylinder 5 speed that is losing power and cutting out in 5th gear...any ideas what could cause that?

bad coil, spark plug wire, spark plug? is CEL on? bad ignition module, fuel pressure problem, EGR malfunction, to name a couple.

might wanna do a compression check as these cars are known for valve issues.
