My 1994 ford thunderbird v6 3.8 has an idle problem I took off the idle control valve and it looks rough, even the part of the engine that I will attach the new one to.. It has a crack, I was wondering If I need like gasket or something other than changing the engines top. Any thoughts?

In the least I would clean it. Possibly fix the crack with some jb Weld depending on how bad it is or use silicone to fill it. Also use silicone to seal the two surfaces, only use a thin film.
