what's wrong with my car?

I have a Ford thunderbird 1994 V6 3.8 and it has a high idle. When I pull out the MAF sensor it idles better but when stoped it feels like it's gunna die

thats normal. i would suspect the idle control motor more than the mass air flow. it is a common failure.
