Transmission slipping bad fluid level seems a little high.car stops moving engine dies. You can start car it will move but only a few hundred feet . Vacuum leak?

If it dies when you stop, it sounds like the trans isn't releasing. If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. It could be the TCC that is going bad.
