My 1994 ford tempo over heats when driven. I know it is the harmonic balancer. Does it need to be replaced or can it be fixed?

The harmonic balancer won't cause an engine to overheat. Check to make sure the coolant is full, the thermostat is good, the coolant is clean and the radiator isn't plugged. Also, make sure the cooling fans are working.
