I need to hange a fuel pump on a 1994 ford tempo.I can take on a line pump but not a tank pump which is this?

Your pump is inside the tank. You can't use anything external.

Tank pump. Some cars(not tempos) have an access cover under rear seat for pump. I have made my own access by cutting hole in metal under seat. It's about 10" square/round starting in middle right at hump about 2 inch back from front edge. I dont know if an inline pump could be substituted for tank pump. Never tried it.

Do you know for sure it's the pump? There is a relay that operates pump that has been known to go bad also.

There's also an inertia (crash) switch in trunk that can trip and turn off pump.
