why doesnt the heater in my car work?

when i turn the heat on in my car, nothing happens. If you take a wire and run it from the blower moter to the battery,it will kick in,Iv had ,i think its called the resister replaced, the little metal thing under the dash that the heater blower plugs into. still nothing.the fuse is o.k. the thermostat is working properly.the car doesnt overheat. took it to several mechinics, no-one can figure it out

Check and test the blower motor resistor and the AC/Heater blower switch
