why does my transmission shift hard

sometime transmission shift hard from 1 to 2 depending of how much i press gas pedal the transmission is automatic and there is a over drive off switch on the end of the shifter i allways run the truck whitout touching the overdrive off switch only when i'm loeded .thanks

Have you checked the fluid level. Has it been serviced . This might be something a transmission shop will have to check
