1994 Fiat Punto Radiator Blew Weeks Ago Had New One Inserted 300 00 Last Week

My radiator blew some weeks ago and had a new one inserted.(300.00) Last week my radiator did not ' kick in' so the car overheated again and now neecded a new sender unit and hose. (160.00) In your opinion do you think that the sender unit will/should have been checked
