my van dont blow hot air out of defroster but get hot air of sidewindow vents i change the therostat so i think its not thr therostat

check the actuators on heater box for working, they can be vacuum or electric, if vacuum look for a vacuum leak from eng to ocontrol, an dcontrol to motor
