COULD U TELL ME WHAT IS CAUSING IT TO NOT GO ONTO GEAR WE REPLACED THE TRANS. BUT WE DID USE THE OLD TORK CONVERTER

The converter itself can be bad. If you know the new transmission is good, that is what I would suspect.
