1994 dodge spirit 4 cyl. How to loosen alternater to put on new belt?

You need to remove the A/C belt if equipped.

Loosen the locking nut and turn the adjusting screw to release the belt tension. Loosening the pivot nut would allow the alternator to be pushed downwards to allow the belt to tbe removed.
