1994 Chrysler New Yorker Remote Car Lock Doors Open Door Alarm Off Only Way

I do not have a remote for the car, and if I lock the doors, when I go to open the door the alarm goes off and the only way I can stop it is to disconnect the battery. Can you help

Unlock the passenger front door with the key. If that works, the switch in the driver's door is defective, the link to it is broken or disconnected, or most commonly there's a broken wire between the door hinges.
