The spider injection system on my blazer went out and would not inject any fuel eventually, as it would not start. I took it to a mechanic and it ran good for about 3 weeks. Then it started again. I took it back to the mechanic and it ran right for about 3 months, but now the Spider is acting up again. Could this just be bad luck because my vehicle is older, or is the mechanic pulling a fast one on me? I have heard that you can simply clean them for less than $20, but I paid the mechanic around $400 thinking he replaced it. The mechanic is someone I thought to be a friend, so I want to get my facts straight before confronting him. Please help.

I don't believe that it is bad luck.three bad spider assemblies in four months? very, very unlikely.as far as you being ripped off, there is no way to confirm that.i would suggest getting a second opinion. and if it is the spider again ,then you should be able to warraunty that item and also the store/manufacturer should cover the labor also.make sure that you keep all receipts and documentation from the previous replacements.
